The Filament Theatre Ensemble today announced that their current production of Hank Williams: Lost Highway will extend through Sunday July 15 at the Athenaeum Theatre.

Performances are Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays at 7:30pm, and Sundays at 3:00pm in the third floor studio space at the Athenaeum Theatre, located at 2936 N. Southport Ave. Ticket prices begin at $17.00, and are available by calling (773) 935-6875 or by visiting www.filamenttheatre.org/tickets or www.athenaeumtheatre.org.

Hank Williams: Lost Highway is Filament’s final production as an itinerant company; on August 1 they take up permanent residence at 4041 N. Milwaukee Ave.

Described by the Chicago Tribune as “a tremendous performance…pure, classic Cadillac,” Hank Williams: Lost Highway follows Williams from his roots in Alabama to his meteoric rise to super-stardom on the stage of the world-famous Grand Ole Opry.

This toe-tapping musical tribute showcases what Williams did best: performing. Lost Highway features over 20 of Williams’s best loved songs, performed live by Hank and his band, the Drifting Cowboys, including timeless classics such as “Move It On Over”, “Jambalaya”, and “Your Cheatin’ Heart”. A humorous and heartfelt tribute, Lost Highway reveals an intimate portrait of the passionate and troubled man behind the music.
