A CHRISTMAS CAROL, a cherished tradition that has become Chicago's definitive family holiday production,will be presented from November 20 through December 23, 2014 at Drury Lane Theatre for Young Adults, 100 Drury Lane. The joyful Charles Dickens classic, which has played for more than 25 years on the Drury Lane stage, is directed by Scott Calcagno (A Christmas Carol and The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee at Drury Lane Theatre, Legally Blonde at The Civic Theatre, and Grease at The Long Lake Theatre). Over 30 colorful Dickensian characters are brought to life on stage in this uplifting tale of hope and redemption. Complete with falling snow, magical illusions and special effects, the play is a visually-stunning experience, and at one hour long, perfect for children of all ages. On select performance dates, families will have the opportunity to have breakfast or dinner with Santa Claus in Drury Lane's elegantly decorated dining room. The buffet-style menu will include festive winter specialties and kid-friendly items.

Set in Victorian-era London, A CHRISTMAS CAROL tells the story of Ebenezer Scrooge, a miserly old man who receives a Christmas Eve visit from the ghost of his old business partner, Jacob Marley, warning him to mend his ways. During the night, three spirits appear before Scrooge showing him visions of Christmas Past, Christmas Present, and Christmas Future to reveal the results of his selfish life. Scrooge promises to redeem himself and vows to honor the spirit of Christmas with all his heart, spreading good cheer, kindness and generosity to everyone he encounters.

A Breakfast with Santa featuring seasonal specialties is offered on Saturdays, including November 22, 29, December 6, 13 and 20 at 11:30 a.m. with the performance at 10 a.m. or 1 p.m. The Breakfast Buffet package price for adults is $30.00 and $25.00 for children 12 and under. A special Dinner Buffet with Santa is available on Wednesday, December 17 at 6:00 p.m. with the performance at 7:00 p.m. The Dinner Buffet package price for adults is $40.00 and $30.00 for children 12 and under.
Regular performances are at 10:00 a.m. Some performances on Fridays are at 12:00 p.m. Saturdays include performances at both 10:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. Call the box office for specific details.
