Dhilanthi Fernando has organized "An Evening of Chamber Music" with Dhilanthi & Friends on Friday, October 26 at 7PM at St. Paul's United Church of Christ (2335 N. Orchard St, Chicago). The program features works by Schubert, Mozart, Brahms, Dvorak, and a CHICAGO PREMIERE by Demetrius Spaneas. Suggested donation is $20 and all proceeds will support the New Orleans Musicians Relief Fund (NOMRF). Performers include Charith Premawardhana (founder of the International organization Classical Revolution), Cory Tiffin (co-founder of Chicago's Anaphora), and Masako Hayashi (Japanese Soprano whose 2006 debut album consists of works such as Led Zeppelin's 'Stairway to Heaven' and 'Bohemian Rhapsody' by Queen).

Dhilanthi Fernando, a native of Sri Lanka, has long supported musicians who are recovering from natural disasters. In 2005, she helped organize a day-long Performathon in NYC to raise funds for a school in Sri Lanka whose musical instruments were damaged by a tsunami. When Dhilanthi discovered NOMRF, she felt it was "a community that needed help from us all." The program was selected with a variety of ensemble combinations in mind and it is a repeat of a very successful recital that Dhilanthi gave in Geneva (Switzerland) in 2010, to raise funds for a Children's Home in Switzerland as part of the Concerts for Peace series in Geneva.
