Dead Writers' Theatre Collective continues their Concert Staged Reading Series with Oscar Wilde's Lady Windermere's Fan, directed by Artistic Director Jim Schneider. Attend the reading of the work that made Oscar Wilde an overnight sensation as two of Chicago's finest actresses, Collective members Bonnie Hilton & Joanna Riopelle, take on the iconic role of Mrs. Erlynne, with Megan Delay in the title role of Lady Windermere.

Other cast members include: Alicia Hurtado (Lady Agatha), Ben Muller (Lord Windermere), BranDon Johnson (Mr. Hopper), Christina Irwin (Lady Stutfield), Jack Calvert (Lord Augustus) Linda Roberts (Duchess of Berwick) Michael Graham (Cecil Graham) Rob Cramer (Lord Darlington) Sara Minton (Mrs. Cowper-Cowper) Travis Barnhart (Mr. Dumby), Joyce Saxon (Lady Jedburgh), Bob Douglas (Parker)

The Plot: The play begins on Lady Windermere's twenty first birthday where her husband is giving a large ball to celebrate. Before the event, however, she learns from the Duchess of Berwick that her husband has been visiting a woman with a past, Mrs. Erlynne, who has a desire to get back into society. Through blackmail she arranges with Lord Windermere to attend Lady Windermere's ball in the hopes of meeting Lord Augustus Lorton, brother of the Duchess of Berwick, and getting him to marry her. Furious at her husband's invitation to Mrs. Erlynne, she threatens to strike her across the face with her birthday present from her husband; a large feather fan.

Secrets are revealed, hearts broken, reputations threatened and how we label good and bad are examined in this beautifully written play about judgment, pride and the power of forgiveness.

Tickets for Lady Windermere's Fan are $40.00 and include a free cocktail. Patrons will also have a chance to purchase coupons for our in-house raffle for a chance to win a gift basket full of unique items including a DVD of the movie plus a collection of Oscar Wilde's works.
