The Theatre School at DePaul University presents The Skriker, written by Caryl Churchill and directed by Jess Jung, as the first installment of the 2010-2011 New Directors Series. The production opens Friday, November 5, and runs through Sunday, November 14, 2010, at the Greenhouse Theater Center. Performances are Wednesdays through Saturdays at 7:30 PM and Sundays at 2 PM.  Previews are on November 3 and November 4 at 7:30 PM.

Combining the dark folklore of the past with the high-speed urban culture of the present, Caryl Churchill's THE SKRIKER delves into a world of the cruel, the damaged, and the inhuman through the eyes of an ancient shape-shifting fairy. Director Jess Jung takes a hard look at the loss of innocence and lack of connection in our modern world.

Admission is FREE but reservations are recommended. Call the Box Office at (312) 922-1999.

New Directors Series productions are directed in partial fulfillment of the Master of Fine Arts degree in Directing at The Theatre School.  THE SKRIKER serves as Director Jess Jung's MFA thesis project, after three years of production practice and training in order to fulfill her degree requirements.  To learn more about Jung's past projects, The New Directors Series, or the MFA Directing curriculum, please visit http://theatreschool.depaul.edu.
