Dandelion Theatre presents an impressive Chicago collaboration, The Hot Dog Stand, for one weekend only, May 20 through 22, at The Den Theatre in Wicker Park. Following on from the success of last year's The Coat Check, The Hot Dog Stand premieres 10 new plays by Chicago area playwrights, directed by 10 Chicago directors, and featuring 25 Chicago actors - with all of the action taking place in front of various hot dog stands around Chicago.

The Hot Dog Stand takes a look at our everyday lives, turns them upside-down and shakes out a merry-go-round of extraordinary characters and remarkable events that remind us of the joy of the unexpected.

"Dandelion Theatre is committed to creating opportunities for theatre artists and The Hot Dog Stand is a great example of the kind of work Dandelion Theatre values," said Founder and Artistic Director Katherine Lamb. "By bringing together disparate theatre artists, Dandelion Theatre both facilitates collaboration and creates opportunities, while also becoming better acquainted with Chicago's exceptional theatre community. Last year's The Coat Check served as a launching pad for many of its participants who have gone on to collaborate both with each other and with Dandelion Theatre."

Curated by Artistic Director Katherine Lamb, The Hot Dog Stand presents 10 new plays by Tamar Brooks, Kalena Chevalier, Annemarie Friedo, Autumn McGarr, Josh Hepler, Kimberly Kolarich, Ethan Krupp, Conor McShane, Christopher vanDer Ark, and John Weagly, with direction by Victoria Apodaca, Brad Bartolo, Ryan Bruce, JC Farris, Ben Kaye, Kristina McCloskey, Scott Merchant, Chris Owens, Richard Paro, and Bec Willett.

Dandelion Theatre, founded in 2014 by Katherine Lamb, is committed to creating experiences that inspire and vitalize artists and audience members alike. They seek to attain this by cultivating community, fostering the artistic process, and valuing truthful discourse.
