MadKap Productions has announed that the 25th anniversary, national touring production of Rob Becker's historic comedy, Defending The Caveman will return to Skokie Theatre for four performances October 14 - 16, 2016. Friday at 8:00 pm, Saturday at 5:00 pm and 8:00 pm and Sunday at 2:00 pm. Tickets are $40 general admission and can be purchased online at SkokieTheatre.org or by calling 847-677-7761.

Couples are sure to be roaring with laughter and sharing knowing glances while asking "Could comedy give couples therapy a run for its money?" With hilarious insight on contemporary feminism, masculine sensitivity and the erogenous zone, Defending the Caveman mines the common themes in relationships that go straight through the funny bone and into the heart. Defending the Caveman makes us laugh at ourselves, about all the ways that men and woman fight, laugh and love.

Written by comedian Rob Becker over a three-year period during which he made an informal study of anthropology, prehistory, psychology, sociology and mythology, Defending the Caveman played for two and a half years on Broadway, making it the longest running solo play in Broadway's history.

Defending the Caveman offers a hilariously insightful prehistoric look at the original battle of the sexes. Full of wonderful scenarios that celebrate the differences between men and women, Caveman is a must see for anyone who is, has ever been, or would like to be in a relationship. In addition to winning the hearts of audiences worldwide, Caveman has also garnered praise from a multitude of marriage and family therapists across the nation for its humorous exploration of the gender gap

Caveman is now in its ninth year in Las Vegas, currently playing seven days a week downtown at the "D" Hotel and Casino and tours all over the United States and around the world. At last count, Caveman has been performed in 45 different countries and been translated into more than 20 languages.

"CAVEMAN is a nationwide comic phenomenon!" ~ The New York Times

"An outrageously funny and surprisingly sweet exploration of the gender gap..." ~ Chicago Sun-Times

"Hysterically Funny! Couples who were seen arguing before the show, stroll out into the night holding hands." ~ Variety

About Skokie Theatre

The Skokie Theatre was originally built in 1912 and served as the local movie theatre for the people who lived in the Skokie area. The building fell into disrepair, until 2006 when the Skokie Valley Music Foundation spent over 1.2 million dollars to refurbish it and create a music hall that is unlike any other in the area. Its 140 comfortable seats, perfect acoustics, and elegant art deco architecture makes it a Skokie landmark. MadKap Productions took over management of the building in February, 2014 with the goal of establishing a full-time performing arts center. When not presenting plays, audiences can experience cabaret and concerts, dance, and comedy acts.
