Cuna, the contemporary Lakeview neighborhood bar serving globally-inspired shareable plates from chef Kendal Duque, will host a Fat Tuesday party featuring drink specials and its full food menu on Tuesday, February 16.

ABOUT CUNA: Chicago businessman Paolo Acuna created Cuna, a contemporary 6,000 square foot neighborhood bar with affordable price points for food and drink in Lakeview. Cuna boasts 11 specialty cocktails ranging from ranging from new creations like the Belmont Whistle (Hendrick's Gin, Tito's Handmade Vodka, cucumber-infused simple syrup, cucumber garnish) to classics like the Sazerac and the Old Fashioned. Almost all of Cuna's premium brand mixed drinks top out at $8. Cuna also serves six beers on tap, a range of bottled beers, and a 17-bottle globally-sourced wine list. Kendal Duque - formerly the executive chef at three-star Sepia- is Cuna's executive chef . Duque's chef-driven menu focuses on scratch-made, globally-inspired shareable plates manipulating South American, Mediterranean, Asian, American, and Italian flavors from local and seasonal ingredients. Cuna's winter menu features three flatbreads (including "sausage, grapes, goat cheese and fontina cheese"); three salads and soups (including "onion soup with beef short ribs and gruyere cheese puffs"); eight "small bites" (including "whole wheat pasta ribbons with smoked duck breast, broccolini and parmigiano"; five "big bites" (including "skate wing with bacon-braised collard greens and cranberry-pine nut sauce"); and two desserts (including "black dog gelato cookie sandwiches").
