Cuna, a contemporary Lakeview neighborhood bar serving globally-inspired bar food from chef Kendal Duque, will host a "Cuna-Con Party" on Friday, April 16 celebrating the kickoff of the Chicago Comic & Entertainment Expo (C2E2) convention beginning the same day.
Patrons are encouraged to dress up as their favorite comic book characters during the "Cuna-Con Party". Cuna will give out $50 gift certificates to both the "Best Dressed Female Comic Book Character" and "Best Dressed Male Comic Book Character" at 1am during the "Cuna-Con Party".
There will be a hosted Chivas Regal reception from 7pm-9pm during the "Cuna-Con Party". Two of Cuna's new spring cocktails - one representing "good" and one representing "evil" - will be special for only $5 during the "Cuna-Con Party". The "good" cocktail is the "The Vacation" (Bacardi rum, pineapple juice, orange juice, sour mix, cream of coconut, grenadine, lime & cherry garnish), and the "evil" cocktail is "The Bittersweet" (Chivas Regal 12, Campari, ginger beer, muddled orange slices, bitters, orange slice garnish). Both cocktails are regularly priced at $8.
Legendary Chicago DJ Jesse De La Pena will spin his mix of jazz, funk, soul, reggae, hip hop, rock, Latin, 70's, 80's, and dance from 10pm until close during the "Cuna-Con Party".
Cuna will also show comic book-inspired movies on its flatscreens during the "Cuna-Con Party." There is no cover charge for the "Cuna-Con Party".
