The Burrowers Theatre Company is proud to present the world premiere of Wyatt Fair's BARBACK, performing November 10, 17, and 18 at 8pm and November 13 at 4pm, at Gorilla Tango Theatre, 1919 N. Milwaukee Ave., Chicago 60647. Tickets are $15; to purchase tickets call 773-598-4549 or visit www.gorillatango.com.
In a farm-to-table restaurant in "the burbs," a waitress, a barback, and a busser spend their time hanging out in the upstairs bar. Their conversations about music, food, and relationships slowly begin to reveal the tensions that come with being stuck: both in their own lives and with each other.
BARBACK is both a love letter to and a critique of the service industry, where beers are cold and tempers are hot. Whether you are a veteran of the industry or completely new to it, Wyatt Fair's play enfolds you, revealing a story of people who keep moving without seeming to go anywhere.
ABOUT THE BURROWERS THEATRE COMPANY
The Burrowers Theatre Company is committed to being a home for emerging playwrights, artists, and new works in and around the city of Chicago. Through opportunities for readings and productions, we strive to support playwrights developing new work in order to prepare both the play and the writer for their next step. We encourage collaboration between artists of multiple disciplines and backgrounds in hopes of creating unique pieces of art that reflect the world around us. While we may be the first stop for a new work's journey, we will endeavor to never be the last.
