On Tuesday February 23, another group of fearless performers will take the stage and perform a musical in its entirety, having met each other only an hour before and having had no group rehearsal. This time around we've got an epic cast of phenomenal performers from the Chicago theatre community.

Curious? Well of course we can't tell you what the show is, but we CAN tell you that it will be a magical evening of theatre as you've never experienced it before.

The Confidential Musical Theatre Project made its debut in Toronto in July 2014, and since then has spread to fifteen cities across North America. Come and see what all the fuss is about! Be in on the secret.

ABOUT CMTP:

  • We choose a musical that doesn't get done very often, but should.
  • We cast the musical with the best performers possible regardless of age, race, body type or gender.
  • We get them their scripts and scores and ask them to familiarize themselves with their role(s).
  • We ask them not to reveal the title of the musical or their role in it to anyone.
  • With NO rehearsals, we all meet for the first time on the night of the performance and start the musical.
  • The challenge for the performers: create an ensemble on their feet in front of an audience.
  • The audience shows up without knowing what show they're going to see.

The only rule: We don't stop - no matter what happens.

Our world premiere took place on July 22nd, 2014 in Toronto: Sunday In The Park With George. We have since expanded into Cape Breton, Chicago, Halifax, Hamilton, Kitchener-Waterloo, Los Angeles, Montréal, New York City, Ottawa, Pickering, Pittsburgh, Port Perry, Vancouver and Windsor.

Can you keep a secret? We can!
