Chicago Youth Shakespeare to Present ROMEO & JULIET, 12/12-14

Chicago Youth Shakespeare will present "Romeo and Juliet," William Shakespeare's most famous play about young love and rebellion that has been told and re-told for over 400 years. We all know the story, and we all read it in high school. So why is "Romeo and Juliet" still relevant in 2014? Find out what happens when teenagers tell this story - their story - their way. "Romeo and Juliet" performs Friday, December 12, 2014 at 7:30 pm and Saturday, December 13 and Sunday, December 14 at 3 pm. Tickets are $15 and can be purchased at gorillatango.com/bucktownor by calling 773-598-4549. All performances take place at Gorilla Tango Bucktown, 1919 N Milwaukee Ave, Chicago, IL 60647.

The Chicago Youth Shakespeare Ensemble (CYSE) represent high schools across Chicago, including The British School of Chicago; The Chicago High School for the Arts; Deerfield High School; Francis W. Parker; Lincoln Park High School; Maine East High School, and Oak Park River High School. Admission to CYSE is by audition only, and is open to high school students across the Chicago Metropolitan area. Chicago Youth Shakespeare is a non-profit dedicated to providing Shakespeare education, outreach, and performance opportunities to Chicago high school students. CYS seeks to broaden the scope and impact of Shakespeare performance opportunities for young people while fostering community across demographic boundaries.
