Jeff Award winner Rob Lindley, Broadway alum Mark David Kaplan, and Chicago favorite Meghan Murphy, as well as up and coming performers from Stevenson High School in Lincolnshire, will also participate in this evening of music, improvisation, comedy and trivia.
"Only Chicago could put on a celebration like this," says event organizer and (Improvised Sondheim Project) ISP Producer Amanda Murphy. "This isn't your typical 'stand and sing' cabaret. We've brought together not only some of the great musical theater companies and performers of Chicago, but also really funny theater aficionados to talk about Sondheim. And no Chicago theater celebration would be complete without the most Chicago of art forms - improvisation. Sondheim was also a good friend of Gilda Radner's, so it's a perfect fit. I think he'd be pleased we were donating to a charity with her name, in his name, as Chicago's gift to him on his 85th birthday."
The concert/talk show will take place at Stage 773, 1225 West Belmont,( www.stage773.com/) on Sunday, March 22nd, at 8pm. Tickets are $15.00, with all proceeds going to Gilda's Club Chicago in Stephen Sondheim's name.
