Chicago Slam Works House Ensemble proudly presents "Incendium", opening Friday Jan. 29 and running through March 4 at 8:15 p.m. at Stage 773, 1225 W. Belmont. "Incendium" is a cabaret-style evening of performance that explores what "life" may be like in a gritty, dungeon-like club in the afterlife. Using poetry as a primary medium, Chicago Slam Works' House Ensemble incorporates elements of movement, drama, music, spoken word, and sketch comedy to create a truly unique theater experience. Chicago Slam Works House Ensemble uses a central theme to create an original piece written and performed by the House Ensemble. The Ensemble Director is J.W. Basilo. Shows run Fridays at 8:15 p.m. For tickets and information visitwww.ChicagoSlamWorks.com.

"Chicago Slam Works is always striving to create conversation by uniting poetry, performance, and theatre," said Jaxx Allen , producer. " 'Incendium' is our largest production to date and we've incorporated more original art forms, music, dance, sketch than ever before. There's no way you are walking away from this with your mouth closed."

The Incendium Cabaret is where a ragtag rogue's gallery perform for the freshly-dead inside the afterlife's hottest (and only) nightclub. In this sprawling underworld, time is a forgotten luxury, and nothing much seems to change...until an unexpected touch of chaos rattles the cast's routine. Through poetry, music, dance, and more, Incendium tackles questions of memory, redemption, and the great unknown. The cast includes: Nate Cheeseman (Actor), J. Evelyn (Actor/poet), Shelley Elaine Geiszler (Actor/poet), Angelique Nelson (Poet/Movement Artist), Angela Oliver (Actor/poet), Joseph Ramski (Actor/poet), Dru Smith (Actor/poet/Hip Hop Artist), Teagan Walsh-Davis (Actor/poet). Basilo directs.

Chicago Slam Works final performance of the 2015-16 season is "The Myth of American Greatness," May 6 to June 10, 2016. "The Myth of American Greatness" turns a satirical eye to the ever-present specter of the media in the age of endless war. The revolution may be televised, but will we really see what we think we're seeing?
