The Chicago Sinfonietta, under the leadership of Music Director Mei-Ann Chen, announces a "Give the Gift of Music" promotion with a Sinfonietta twist: Beginning Friday, December 2, the orchestra will send out one e-mail a day for twelve days with gift ideas ranging from the modest to the spectacular, culminating in a one-of-a-kind opportunity to co-produce your very own Chicago Sinfonietta concert at the city's most iconic outdoor stage.
"Whether it's what we do on stage, the substance of our education and outreach efforts, or the experience that we offer our patrons, we always strive to do things differently," said Executive Director Jim Hirsch. "This time of year, music and art often come to mind as gift ideas, so in addition to providing a range of Sinfonietta experiences to chose from, we thought we would go beyond the ordinary in our offerings."
The initial offer on December 2 will be $10 tickets for the music loving student in your community. Each day will bring a unique and progressively elaborate opportunity, including packages with such themes such as Romance, Immersion, Education, a unique opportunity to get Co-Executive Producer credit on an upcoming Chicago Sinfonietta recording that includes your presence at the recording session, and, finally, your own Chicago Sinfonietta concert for $50,000.
Funds raised through this promotion will support the Orchestra's education and outreach efforts as well as general operating expenses.
Each day's edition of SinfonEnews, the orchestra's e-mail newsletter, will include full details of the gift item as well as instructions on how to purchase it. To receive SinfonEnews, visit www.chicagosinfonietta.org and click the "Sign Up" icon.
