Chicago Opera Theater (COT) is proud of its commitment to young people and students by making ticket prices affordable. For over 10 years now, Chicago Opera Theatre has offered half-priced tickets and subscriptions to full-time college students and youth under 18. COT is happy to expand their student ticket program by offering $15 student rush tickets to full-time college students who sign up online at ChicagoOperaTheater.org/Student.
"With arts education being cut significantly, both in public and private schools, it is vital that arts companies such as ourselves try to close that gap," said General Director Brian Dickie. "We look forward to welcoming the next generation of opera lovers to Chicago Opera Theater."
Full-time college students and youth under 18 who wish to guarantee their seat to a Chicago Opera Theater performance may buy half-priced tickets or subscriptions in Sections B, C, and D anytime at ChicagoOperaTheater.org or 312.704.8414. Full-time college students will be required to show their ID (via email, fax or when they pick their tickets up at the Harris Theater). Half-price student tickets range from $17.50-$37.50.
Full-time college student may also sign up to receive notice via email for $15 student rush tickets at ChicagoOperaTheater.org/Student. If rush tickets are available a few days before a performance, COT will email a notice offering $15 tickets online in all available sections (excluding A+). Students will be required to show their student ID when they pick up their tickets at the Harris Theater.
Chicago Opera Theater specializes in fresh interpretations of classic operas to make the story as universal and relatable as the day it was first performed. The 2008 Spring Season is no exception and includes Mozart's Don Giovanni (April 30-May 11), the Midwest premiere of John Adams' A Flowering Tree (May 14-May 25), and Handel's Orlando (May 28-June 8).
Chicago Opera Theater performs at The Harris Theater for Music and Dance in Millennium Park–205 East Randolph Drive.
