"We here at Chicago Opera Theater think there is no better combo than friends, great food, and opera," said COT General Director Andreas Mitisek. "Adding a boat cruise to the mix during Chicago's beautiful summer, is an event not to be missed!"
Guests will begin boarding at 6:15 from Chicago Cruises' dock in front of the 330 N. Wabash Building, from where they will depart at 6:30 for the 2-hour cruise. The ticket will include a wine and beer bar with light hors d'oeuvres.
The evening's entertainment will be provided by singers from COT's upcoming new production of Mozart's The Magic Flute, opening September 15th at the Harris Theater in Millennium Park. The program will include selections fromThe Magic Flute as well as other opera favorites.
Chicago Opera Theater's Opera Underground is a group of young Chicagoans (ages 21-45) who get together for cocktails and opera throughout the year, such as at their popular event "Beers and Baritones". They also attend Opera Underground evenings during COT's mainstage season at the Harris Theater. Chicago Opera Theater is young, vibrant, edgy and contemporary-and so are its Opera Underground members!
