Chicago Danztheatre Ensemble presents, One Voice Series: A Memory, A Monologue, A Rant and A Prayer, edited by Eve Ensler, author of Vagina Monologues and Mollie Doyle, is a collection of monologues examining violence of all levels to women and girls. Directed by Kristen Cone and CDE Ensemble Member, Maggie Robinson, each monologue is devised in collaboration with an all female cast to fuse dance, theatre and multimedia. The evening concludes with community stories to tie in the theme of solidarity.
CDE's One Voice Series is part of international campaign V-Day, which aims to raise awareness around violence towards not only women and girls, but men and boys, as well. Throughout the month of February, men and women come together to host events internationally to take action, share stories, raise money and educate the community.
Proceeds from both evenings will be donated to Life Span. Life Span empowers survivors of domestic and sexual violence to demand safety as a human right through client-centered services, and leads social change through accountability, community engagement, and systemic advocacy.
One Voice Series: A Memory, A Monologue, A Rant and A Prayer is a part of Chicago Theatre Week. Use the code, "CTW18" for a $15 general admission ticket.
