The board, artists, top supporters and staff of Chicago Children's Theatre invite Chicagoans to the company's 2013 fall gala Making a Scene, an incredible party dedicated to celebrating Chicago's No. 1 non-profit, professional children's theater on November 8, 2013 at Germania Place.
This year, CCT's special guest is Motown legend Lamont Dozier, co-composer of Mr. Chickee's Funny Money, a world premiere R&B family musical debuting at Chicago Children's Theatre in January 2014.
Germania Place is located at 108 W. Germania, Chicago, and the event will run from 6:30 p.m. to 10:30 p.m.
All Making a Scene proceeds will benefit Chicago Children's Theatre, the city's premiere professional theater dedicated to young audiences and family programming. Proceeds allow CCT to continue producing the highest caliber theatrical and educational arts programming, while remaining accessible to all Chicago families and school children.Launched in 2005, Chicago Children's Theatre aspires to enrich our community through diverse and significant theatrical and educational programming that engages and inspires the child in all of us.
In addition, CCT offers The Red Kite Program, an incredible outreach initiative specifically designed to make live theater accessible for children on the autism spectrum.

Lamont, along with his son Paris Dozier, are the co-composers of Chicago Children's Theatre's highly-anticipated world premiere family musical Mr. Chickee's Funny Money, opening in January 2014. Based on the best-selling book by Christopher Paul Curtis, Mr. Chickee's Funny Money celebrates the adventures of 9-year-old Steven, a self-proclaimed spy and president of the "Flint Future Detectives Club," whose life is forever changed when he is entrusted with a quadrillion dollar bill. Mr. Chickee's Funny Money also doubles as a mini-history lesson celebrating musical genres dominated by African American artists including Motown, Rhythm and Blues, Jazz, Gospel, Disco and Hip Hop.
