announces Short Attention Span Theater

Chemically Imbalanced Comedy (CIC) announces Short Attention Span Theater, an evening of three short, comedic plays directed by and featuring CIC Artists. For Whom the Southern Bell Tolls, by Christopher DurangWords, Words, Words, by David Ives; and 2B (or not 2B), by Jacquelyn Reingold will be presented at the Chemically Imbalanced Theater (1420 W. Irving Park Road, Chicago) August 14-24. Tickets are $15.

Directed by Angie McMahon (director of the popular and long-running CIC show, The Book of Liz, For Whom the Southern Bell Tolls is described as a light-hearted parody of Tennessee Williams' The Glass Menagerie. Durango's popular one-act of family tensions can be enjoyed by audiences both familiar and unfamiliar with Williams play. The cast of For Whom the Southern Bell Tolls includes Lina Bunte, Cyntha Shur, Tom McMahon and Tyler Via.

CIC Resident Artist Dave Whalley directs 2B (or not 2B), a story of a woman living a life that is not-so-great and what happens when she is offered the opportunity of a lifetime: to be Queen Bee. 2B (or not 2B), features Jana Liles and Mike Gillett. Whalley's past directing credits include CIC's productions of The Vietnamization of New Jersey, and Mr. Marmalade.

Making her directorial debut, CIC Resident Artist Sarah Borer directs David Ives' Words, Words, Words. Dr. Rosenbaum has a hypothesis that "Three monkeys hitting keys at random on typewriters for an infinite amount of time will almost surely produce Hamlet. But what will they converse about in the meantime? Words, Words, Words features Chris Froseth, Brian Kash, and Casey Pilkenton.

Short Attention Span Theater runs Thursdays through Saturdays at 8 p.m. and Sundays at 5 p.m. at the Chemically Imbalanced Theater, 1420 W Irving Park, Chicago, IL 60613. Tickets can be purchased online at www.cicomedy.com or by calling 1-800-838-3006
