Raue Center is excited to welcome Lisa Rock and her six-piece band as they pay tribute to the music of Karen and Richard Carpenter in "Close to You: The Music of The Carpenters" at 7 p.m. on December 30, 2016. The show will include holiday classics like "Merry Christmas, Darling" and "What Are You Doing New Year's Eve?" alongside the music of The Carpenters for a unique and unforgettable end of the year!

Considered one of the greatest vocalists of all time, Karen Carpenter captured the attention of a generation with her unabashedly catchy pop music. The Carpenters topped the Billboard charts with more than a dozen number one hit love songs.

Now, the beautiful and unforgettable music and rich, full sound of The Carpenters returns to the stage through the spot-on renditions of the classics performed by Rock and her six-piece band in their hit tribute show, "Close to You: The Music of The Carpenters."

Singer and playwright Lisa Rock has been performing to sold-out crowds for years. Rock has written over 15 original concerts and cabarets that have been seen across the country. Now, she and her six-piece band are devoted to creating a Carpenters' experience like no other.

Rock's incredible four octave vocal range allows her to perform classic Carpenters' hits like "We've Only Just Begun" and "Rainy Days and Mondays" in their original key, creating a genuine and recognizable performance for fans of The Carpenters.

Tickets start at $27 and can be purchased online at rauecenter.org or via the Box Office at 815.356.9212 or 26 N. Williams Street in downtown Crystal Lake.
