Hope Throws Her Heart Away is a comedy/drama about a woman who has gone adrift trying to be all things to all people, pleasing everyone but herself. It's the journey of growing up after growing up and finding a path by getting lost. In tune with Hope's conflicted personality, this is a one-woman show-performed by three actresses.

Says playwright Susan Goodell: " I see human behavior as often absurd, so experience my quirky comedy as stringent realism. I find drama in small everyday actions, heroism in everyday people and a treasure of humor in the stumbling of everyday speech." Susan has had over three dozen productions in sixteen states with plays developed or produced at venues including Tri-State Actors Theatre, (HEELS OVER HEAD) Virginia Stage Company, Abingdon Theatre, The Barrow Group, Atlantic Stage (Myrtle Beach), The Source, Boston Theatre Marathon, Festival51 and NYC's Fresh Produce'd. Chicago credits include the Prologue Theatre's Landmark Festival and the Aston Rep Writer's Series.

The play features Katie Binger, Tricia Rogers and Lily Sauvage and is directed by Elayne LeTraunik. Stage manager is Patrick Murphy. Set design is by Nick Jackson, Light design by Scott Pillsbury, Costume Design by Rafaella Valderrama and Sound design by JJ Porterfield.

Hope Throws Her Heart Away will be performed at the Alley Stage, 4147 N. Broadway, Chicago from November 27 to December 20, 2015. Tickets are $30 with discounts for students, seniors and groups of 10 or more.

Performances are Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays at 7:30pm and Sundays at 3pm. For tickets go to www.brownpapertickets.com/event/1900048. A limited number of discounted tickets are available on Goldstar.
