The Artistic Home's THE TIME OF YOUR LIFE Begins Tonight

The Artistic Home presents THE TIME OF YOUR LIFE by William Saroyan.

The first play to win both the Pulitzer Prize for Drama and the New York Drama Critics Circle Award for Best Play, THE TIME OF YOUR LIFE, set in a 1939 San Francisco where the shadow of the newly-built Golden Gate Bridge and impending war darken the door of Nick's Pacific Street Saloon, presents a slice of American life that is filled with hope and heartache that is as palpable today as it was when the play premiered.

The cast of 22 will be directed by Artistic Home artistic director Kathy Scambiatterra and features Artistic Home ensemble members Scott Westerman as Joe, Frank Nall as Kit Carson, Julian Hester as Dudley, David Vogel as Blick and Kathryn Acosta as Kitty Duvall. They are joined by guest artists Marshall Bean, Reid Coker, Declan Collins, Andrea Crisp, Gay Glenn, Annie Hogan, Nick Jordan, Mary McClenahan, Andy Monson, Josh Odor, Shannon Parr, Mark Pracht, Jerome Riley, Jae K. Renfrow, Delaney Spangler, Rachel Slavick and Joey Swift.

Set will be designed by Kevin Hagan. Costumes will be designed by Zach Wagner. Sound will be designed by Joseph Cerqua and Zack Berinstein. Properties and set dressing will be designed by Robin Miller. Lights will be designed by Claire Sangster. Technical direction will be by Kevin Scott. The stage manager will be Katie Langley. The assistant director will be RJ Coleman.

Previews for THE TIME OF YOUR LIFE will begin tonight, September 9 at 8p.m. and run through September 12. Press Night will be at 8p.m. on September 11. Opening Night will be on Sunday, September 13 at 7p.m. The show will run through Oct. 25, 2015. Regular show times will be Thursdays at 7:30p.m., Fridays and Saturdays at 8p.m. and Sundays at 3p.m.

All preview tickets are $15. Regular run tickets are $28 on Thursdays and Sundays and $32 on Fridays and Saturdays. Senior/student tickets are available on Thursdays and Sundays for $20. Tickets can be purchased at www.theartistichome.org or by calling 1-866-811-4111. All performances will take place at The Artistic Home, which is located at 1376 W. Grand.

The Artistic Home is an Equity theatre company noted for their innovative and intimate presentations of rarely-produced classics as well developing new works. Audiences may know The Artistic Home best from their recent Jeff-Recommended productions of Macbeth, Watch on the Rhine, Les Parents Terrible, Beaten, and A Touch of the Poet or the 2013 Jeff Award winner The Goddess and the Jeff-nominated The Late Henry Moss. Other Artistic Home productions include the Jeff-Award-winning production of Juno and the Paycock, which also received three After Dark Awards, the Jeff-Nominated Sweet Bird of Youth, The Tallest Man, Landscape of the Body, Natural Affection, Five Women Wearing the Same Dress, After the Fall and Peer Gynt (which also received an After Dark award for Direction).

For more than 15 years, The Artistic Home has consistently produced compelling theatre in Chicago, collaborating with theatre professionals to bring timeless stories of human emotion to the Chicago community. First formed in 1998 with the belief that the actor is at the heart of great theater, the company strives to give birth to unforgettable moments; to touch audiences who are increasingly distanced from human contact; to readdress the classics and explore new works with passion.
