Cast, Creative Team Set for The Comrades' BOB: A LIFE IN FIVE ACTS

The Comrades will present their fall 2017 production, BOB: A LIFE IN FIVE ACTS by Peter Sinn Nachtrieb, which will be co-directed by Will Quam and Derek Bertelsen. The show will play the Apollo Studio Theater (2540 N Lincoln Ave, Chicago) from October 29 through November 21, 2017. Press opening is Tuesday, October 31 at 7:30pm.

The cast includes Raymond Jacquet (Bob) and Angela Horn, Brittany Stock, Sarah Patin and Bryan Renaud make up the show's chorus who play a variety of characters. The production stage manager is Melanie Kulas. Alison Plott will serve as Movement Coach and Cydney Moody will serve as Assistant Movement Coach. Other production team members include Becca Venable (Sound Designer/Technical Director), Nicholas Coso (Lighting Designer), Rachel Rauscher (Scenic Designer), Samantha Corn (Costume Designer), and Dana Macel (Properties Designer).

According to press notes, BOB: A LIFE IN FIVE ACTS follows Bob who dreams of becoming a great man. The ensuing rags-to-riches-to-fame-to-fall-to-legacy-to-the-love-of-living-life tale follows Bob on an epic journey in just five acts. A play that explores American Mythology and how hard it is to figure out what will make one happy. The play was the winner of the 2010 Barrie and Bernice Stavis Award from the National Theatre Conference.

Playwright Peter Sinn Nachtrieb, 6'6", is a San Francisco-based playwright. His work has been seen off-Broadway and across the USA including at Ars Nova, SPF, Woolly Mammoth, Seattle Repertory, Actors Theatre of Louisville, Southern Rep, San Diego Rep, and in the Bay Area at Z Space, A.C.T., Encore Theatre, Killing My Lobster, Marin Theatre Company, Impact Theatre, and The Bay Area Playwrights Festival. Director Will Quam has directed plays for Mercy Street Theatre, Mudlark Theatre, GreatWorks!, The Golden Mountain, and Two Pence. He has assistant directed with Signature Theatre (NYC), Jackalope Theatre, and Walkabout, among others. His sound design has been heard at Jackalope's Living Newspapers Festival since 2015. Will teaches and directs youth with Writers Theatre, Northlight Theatre, and Mudlark Theatre. He takes pictures of bricks as Brick of Chicago (www.brickofchicago.com). Will is a graduate of Kenyon College and a proud Minnesotan.

Director Derek Bertelsen serves as Artistic Director of The Comrades and Associate Artistic Director of AstonRep Theatre Company. Chicago credits include Prelude To A Kiss, Mary-Kate Olsen Is In Love (The Comrades), Wit, The Lyons, Doubt, The Black Slot, The Lieutenant of Inishmore, co-director for Eleemosynary (AstonRep), Design for Living, and The Children's Hour (Pride Films & Plays). Assistant Directing credits include RACE (Goodman) and Angry Fags (Steppenwolf Garage). Regional credits include Shawnee Summer Theater, New Ground Theatre, Festival 56, and five seasons at Timber Lake Playhouse.
