Cast Announced For The World Premiere Of THE HOLIDAY RADIO SHOW: 1943

Three Cat Productions presents the world premiere of the The Holiday Radio Show: 1943 at the Chicago Park District's Berger Park Coach House Theater at 6205 N. Sheridan Road (Edgewater by Granville el stop on Red Line).

The Holiday Radio Show: 1943 features adaptions of classic works written by Gabriella Bonamici, Dan Jackson, André Richardson Hogan II, Hope Hommersand, Hallie Palladino, and Rolfe Sick. The piece is directed by Jason Paul Smith, Three Cat Productions, Artistic Director and stars Clara Flaherty, Lauren Miller, Halli Morgan, Beverly Munro, Tommy Ross, and Allie Weisel.

The production team included musical director and arranger Roy A. Freeman, accompanist Tommy Ross, literary management by Wendy Schmidt, lighting designer by Pat Henderson, costume and set design by Jason Paul Smith, and stage management by Julia Heeren.

Three Cat Production is thrilled to bring back the it's hit show The Holiday Radio Show: 1943. The Holiday Radio Show:1943 takes us back to Christmas 1943. Featuring an all new set of stories including pieces by Louisa May Alcott, Lucy Maud Montgomery, O. Henry, Langston Hughes, and more. Join us for drama, wacky humor, adorable actors, and some truly transcendent three-part harmony that Will Chase away your "I Can't Believe It's the Holidays Again" blues.

"The Holiday Radio Show: 1943 celebrates the 75th anniversary of World War II," states Jason Paul Smith, Three Cat Productions Artistic Director. "This feel good holiday show pays tribute to the great Holiday traditions of the past and celebrates the servicemen and women who made up the 'Greatest Generation'."

Previews begin November 29, 2018. The show runs from November 29 - December 29, 2018. Performances are Thursdays at 7:30pm, Fridays at 7:30pm, Saturdays at 4:00pm and 7:30pm at the Berger Park Coach House Theater at 6205 N. Sheridan in the Edgewater neighborhood of Chicago. Doors open 30 minutes prior to curtain. No late seating.

Currently running at Three Cat Productions is Man of the People by Dolores Díaz which runs through November 17, 2018. The Holiday Radio Show: 1943 will be running in rep with the world premiere of the solo play, Maker of Worlds by Wendy Schmidt,

Gabriella Bonamici is a Chicago-based playwright and a proud member of the Chicago Dramatist Network. Gabriella earned her BA in English-Creative Writing at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, where her 10-minute play, Ascension, was featured during the Marcia Legere Play Festival. Her short play, Jokes About Ted Bundy, was read as part of the Chicago Dramatists' 2016 Ten-Minute Play Festival . Her one-act play, The Passing, was read as part of Three Cat Productions' 2018 Next Draft series. Gabriella is excited to participate once more in this year's Holiday Radio Show.

Dan Jackson received a Bachelor of Arts in Theatre Studies from Kent State University. His written work has been performed through American Theater Company (Proximity), City Lit Theater (Of Mice and Minotaurs; The Case of Pete's Civic Responsibility), the Arc Theatre Company (Dumped Among the Reeds), and on the Whiskey Radio Hour (Ricky the Termite). His short play Proximity has also been performed in Hollywood and Melbourne, and he's currently working on expanding it into a full-length piece, Unsaid, which was part of Three Cat's 2018 Chicago New Works Festival. His iambic pentameter horror play, The Curse on Mordrake House, was produced as part of the 2016 Chicago Fringe Festival to sold-out houses.

André Richardson Hogan II is a playwright, screenwriter, poet, essayist, visual artist, and theater critic. His plays have received stage readings and productions in numerous theaters which include the American Theater Company, Black Ensemble Theater, Black Diamond Productions, Blackboard Reading Series, Chicago Dramatists, Dramatists Personae, the Field Museum of Natural History, MPAACT, Magnified Gift Theater and Dance Company, Negro Ensemble Company, Nommo PlayLab, Prop Thtr, The Reading Series, Red Harlem Readers, and Three Cat Productions. He was a resident playwright at Magnified Gift Theater and Dance Company and Timber Lake Playhouse Playwrights Colony in Mt. Carroll, IL., a Literary Manager for Sankofa Theater Company, and is currently an Associate Artist of the Black Lives/Black Lives International Project. He resides at Hyde Park in Chicago.
Hope Hommersand's mystery, The Yellow Room Murders, was produced by Unity Players "A Playwright Showcase" in Andersonville last March. Her comedy, Why Good Things Happen to Bad People was chosen for Premiere Theatre's playwrights festival in Aurora. Rehearsing the Cherry Orchard had a staged reading in Bangor, Maine at the Penobscot Theatre's "Northern Writes New Play Festival," and another in the Saturday Series at Chicago Dramatists. She wrote the lyrics for the musical, Right Around That Corner! produced by the MacDowell Artists Association of Oak Park. She has contributed to four of Three Cat's holiday shows. Hope is a member of the Dramatists Guild, Network Playwrights at Chicago Dramatists, Chicago Writers' Bloc, Oak Park Writers Group and Actors' Equity.

Hallie Palladino is a Chicago based playwright and essayist. Recent plays include Infatuation most recently presented at Three Cat as part of the Chicago New Work Festival (also developed at Ojai Playwrights Conference; Dandelion Theater Reservoir Series), Derailed (Broken Bells Reading Series), Missed Connections (Idle Muse Theater's Athena Festival; Pride Films & Plays LezPlay Festival) and shorts Attachment Disorder (Outpost Repertory) and Sunrise: Ardmore Beach (Something Marvelous Festival).

Rolfe Sick is a Chicago writer, member of the Chicago Dramatist's, and Network playwright, currently active with Three Cat Productions. Plays include BELMONT and WESTERN(Riverview, 1955), AN INCONVENIENT SITUATION(The trials of an aging Woman), and a latest work, BACKDRAFT(The realities of social inequity).
