The Chicago League of Lady Arm Wrestlers (CLLAW) is putting the "sizzle" in summer at CLLAW XIX on Friday, July 25 at Logan Square Auditorium, 2539 N. Kedzie Ave. in Chicago. Presented by Sideshow Theatre Company, CLLAW's 19th bout will feature Chicago's biggest, baddest, most belligerent lady arm wrestlers decked out in over-the-top outfits with fast-talking managers, ebullient entourages and shady referees. Chicago's own The Cell Phones will provide rockin' live musical entertainment.

Tickets for CLLAW XIX are $10 with a cash bar available. Doors open at 10 pm with the first match beginning at 10:30 pm. All proceeds from CLLAW XIX will benefit Sideshow Theatre Company and this match's partner charity, {she crew}.

Lumberjack Jill. Marie ARMtoinette. Drinkerbell. Their names echo through the ages. They come from all corners of Chicago, united only by one dream: to elbow their way through the competition and wrestle their way to the top. With Master of Ceremonies Rockke L. Squelch, and a couple of questionable referees to control them, twelve not-so-lady-like ladies in outrageous costumes volunteer their time to vie for that most cherished prize - the bedazzled CLLAW gloves. Who will leverage their way up the bracket? Or bribe their way to the top? All these questions and more will be answered, and all of Chicago is invited to bear witness.

Not content to leave the fun in the arms of its competitors, CLLAW XIX gets everyone in on the action. Audience members have the opportunity to purchase CLLAWBUX, the official currency of CLLAW, throughout the night. With their CLLAWBUX, onlookers can bet on their favorite wrestlers to prevail, and maybe slip a few to the referees to even the score. All CLLAWBUX purchased also go towards fantastic raffle prizes.

A portion of CLLAW XIX proceeds will benefit {she crew}, an arts empowerment non-profit for girls in Chicago, ages 12-14. Its purpose is to bring empowerment tools to the next generation of women through journaling and performance exercises that foster deep introspection, embracing of new perspectives, inclusion and the investigation of all female identities, culminating in productions written and performed by the participants. {she crew}'s programming is made accessible for all girls in Chicago, and functions at no cost to the students. For more information, visit shecrew.org.

Proceeds will also benefit CLLAW's creator and producer, Sideshow Theatre Company. Since its first match in 2009, Sideshow's CLLAW events have helped fund raise for numerous Chicago based non-profits including The Chicago Alliance Against Sexual Exploitation (CAASE), Barrel of Monkeys, C4 - Community Counseling Centers of Chicago, Girls Rock! Chicago, Marwen, Chicago Arts Partnership in Education, Rock for Kids, About Face Youth Theater and others.
