Acclaimed vocalist, recording artist and actress Karen Mason heads into Chicago to perform her acclaimed one-woman show The Secrets Of The Ancient Divas . Performing this acclaimed show all over the country, Mason brings it back to Chicago where it was hailed by Chicago Tribune critic Howard Reich who praised it saying "No show of Mason's travels as quickly between light and dark as her newest." And "no one in cabaret walks the line between humor and sorrow, joy and despair as nimbly as Karen Mason." Mason's show The Secrets Of The Ancient Divas is a homage to the great ladies of song from the past from one of the great ladies of song today. Among the songs and performers Karen pays tribute to is

Doris Day (Secret Love),
Eydie Gorme (If He Walked Into My Life) and
Bette Midler (From A Distance). These songs provide a showcase for Karen's dynamic vocals and musical versatility.
Mason will be appearing at Davenport's, 1383 N Milwaukee Avenue, Chicago, the city's premier venue for intimate, live performances, will take place for 6 performances only! Thursday, June 19, Friday June 20, Saturday June 21, Saturday, June 28, Sunday, June 29 and Monday, June 30. Show times are at 8pm (except the Sunday June 29 show 5pm). Johnny Rodgers who served in similar capacity for the legendary
Liza Minnelli and co-starred with the superstar in her Tony Award-winning show Liza Live At The Palace. This will also be a hometown reunion for Rodgers who got his cabaret start at Davenport's before heading off to the bright lights of Broadway in New York.
Mason other notable roles include that of Velma Von Tussle in the Tony Award-winning Broadway smash hit Hairspray and she originated the role of Tanya in Mamma Mia!, for which she was awarded a 2002 Drama Desk nomination as Best Actress. Karen also replaced
Glenn Close as Norma Desmond in the Andrew Lloyd Weber musical Sunset Boulevard. As well as receiving the Outer Critics Circle Award for her performance in And The World Goes Round.
