Brian Loevner Joins Second City Theatricals as Managing Producer

Andrew Alexander, CEO/Executive Producer of The Second City Inc., and Erica Daniels, President of Second City Theatricals, are pleased to announce the appointment of Brian Loevner as Managing Producer for Second City Theatricals.

"Brian brings a level of production expertise that is essential to building our touring and theatrical division," states Andrew Alexander. "We are thrilled to have him on our team and excited to work with him."

Erica Daniels adds, "I am delighted to have Brian as a partner as Second City moves into this next phase of touring and theatricals. His knowledge of general management, Chicago talent and production and his collaborative and inquisitive nature make him the perfect fit for our team. We're very excited about the work we have planned for 2016 and beyond"

Brian Loevner is the founder and Executive Producer of the Chicago Commercial Collective, where he recently produced the hit productions of To Master the Art, Hit The Wall, 5 Lesbians Eating A Quiche, Stupid f-ing Bird, First Date, and A Steady Rain. For over 9 years, Brian served as the Managing Director of Chicago Dramatists, working to provide opportunities for hundreds of playwrights. He was also the founder and the Managing Director of Theatre Conspiracy in Washington D.C. from 1992-1996. In 1998, he co-founded TriArts, Inc., an artists' collective, where he created programming partnerships with the Chicago Park District, Gallery 37, and the Department of Aging. Brian has also produced and production managed over 100 shows with companies such as Famous Door Theatre, Royal George Theatre, Broadway in Chicago, Timeline Theatre, Collaboraction, Chicago Dramatists and The Actor's Gymnasium.

In 2013 and again in 2015, Brian was named as one of the "Players: The Fifty People Who Really Perform for Chicago" by New City Magazine. Over the last three years, he has served as a consultant for the Chicago Fringe Festival, Adventure Stage, The Poetry Foundation, Collaboraction, Sideshow Theatre and many more organizations and independent theatrical producers. Brian is married to playwright/producer Sarah Illiatovitch-Goldman, has two amazing daughters and lives in Lincoln Square.
