BoHo Theatre continues its milestone 10th season with AMADEUS, Peter Shaffer's masterpiece about genius, jealousy, and the lies we tell to preserve a legacy. Amadeus represents the Bohemian Pillar of Truth in BoHo's 2013/2014 Season.

AMADEUS by Peter Shaffer will be directed by Peter Marston Sullivan and runs tonight, February 14 - March 16, 2014 at Stage 773, 1225 W Belmont Ave, Chicago.

Times: Preview: Friday, February 14 at 8pm. Press Opening / Opening Night: Saturday, February 15, at 8pm. Performance run: February 16 - March 16 - Thursdays through Saturdays at 8:00 pm and Sundays at 2:00 pm.

THE PLAY: Now in his twilight years, the composer Antonio Salieri makes a bold claim: that he may have killed Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. Looking back on his life, Salieri explores his tempestuous rivalry with the boorish but brilliant Mozart, alternating between trusted confidant and devious backstabber. Does Salieri have blood on his hands or this just a way to escape his own mediocrity and growing obscurity? Interwoven with the music of these two men, Amadeus is a rich period drama that challenges audiences to consider our need for genius and our fear of disappearing forever.

THE PRODUCTION: To bring to life the grandeur of the 18th century court and depth of these historic characters, BoHo has gathered an ensemble of our closest artists. Artistic Director Peter Marston Sullivan (BoHo's Floyd Collins, Big River) directs a cast of familiar BoHo faces, including Steve O'Connell (Pygmalion, Floyd Collins, Ghosts) as Salieri and Chris Ballou (Tartuffe, Veronica's Room) as Mozart. Costume Designer Theresa Ham (Jeff Award winner for The Glorious Ones, Broadway World Award winner for Pygmalion) returns to BoHo alongside Set Designer Patrick Ham (Kiss of the Spider Woman) to transform our first production at Stage 773 into the cathedral-like halls of the Viennese Court. Together, these artists will ask audiences to explore the connection of art and genius to a higher power, and the fear of disappearing without leaving behind anything worth remembering.

Featuring: Steve O'Connell as Salieri and Chris Ballou as Mozart; with Scott Danielson, Patrick Byrnes, Kaitlin Henderson, Sasha Kraichnan, Jeff Kurysz, Amanda Jane Long, Rus Rainear, Russell Alan Rowe, Chelsea Taylor, Sean Thomas, and David Tibble.

Produced by Kaela Altman. Scenic Design by Patrick Ham, Lighting Design by Megan Turnquist, Costume Design by Theresa Ham, Sound Design by Matt Tibbs, and Props Design by Cassy Schillo.

Tickets are available now online at www.BoHoTheatre.com or (773) 327-5252. Tickets: $25 (including fees), discounts available for seniors and students.
