BoHo continues its 5th season by exploring a literary classic from a different perspective. As a company, BoHo strives to illuminate the classics of years past and make them accessible to today's audiences. Through the intimacy of its writing, Barbara Fields' Playing with Fire (after Frankenstein) fulfills this goal by bringing back to life the tragic tale of one of literature's most notorious creatures in a most unique way. And, as usual, the talented cast is able to bring the complexities of this piece to life deftly.

The cast is comprised of Kevin Cox (Creature) who most recently understudied in Edward II (Chicago Shakespeare) and performed as Alceste in The Misanthrope and as Macduff in Macbeth (Greasy Joan & Co.); Adam Kander (Adam) made his Chicago debut and received an After Dark Award for his performance of multiple roles in The Merchant of Venice (Bohemian Theatre Ensemble) -- along with his work with BoHo, he also appeared in Arcadia (Kearsley Theater Project, MI) andThe Zoo Story (London Fringe Festival, London ON); Laura Rook (Elizabeth) was last seen on stage as Sacagawea in Lewis and Clark reach the Euphrates with Infamous Commonwealth Theater Company. Other acting credits include, Caravaggio (Silk Road Theatre Project) Hamlet (MidTangent Productions) Envoy, (Echo Theater Co.) and A Dark Fool (XIII pocket.); Clayton Stamper (Victor) has performed for Chicago Shakespeare , Provision, Marriott Theatre, Oraboras, Little Colonel Playhouse, and Mid Tangent Productions; Jeremy Young (Krempe) has theatre credits that include Renee in M Butterfly (Bohemian Theatre Ensemble), Xavier in The Knee Desires the Dirt (Mirrorstage Company), Herbert West in Herbert West: The ReAnimator (Continental Ops.), and Rosencrantz in Hamlet (The Washington Shakespeare Festival); Buck Zachary (Frankenstein) appeared in the Jeff Nominated Cry Havoc at the Bailiwick. Other Chicago credits include Hellcab at the Metropolis Performing Arts Center, and most recently as an understudy for The Artistic Home's production of Look Homeward Angel.

Join us as we present this fascinating and soul-searching piece of art. The questions brought to the fore are ones all of us examine throughout our lives and must sometimes be willing to let go ...unanswered.

Playing with Fire (after Frankenstein) allows BoHo to continue to push its creative and artistic boundaries while bringing another outstanding piece to the BoHo Theatre @ Heartland Studio space.
