Big Noise Theatre Company, celebrating its 14th season of top-notch, live entertainment at the Prairie Lakes Theatre, is thrilled to announce the full line up of productions for 2013-14. Additionally, Big Noise welcomes back Stacey Flaster to direct the musical RAGTIME, which will be the company's final offering in the Spring.

Kicking off the season will be Ruthless, a fast paced, campy musical with music by Marvin Laird, and book & lyrics by Joel Paley. Ruthless tells of eight-year-old Tina Denmark, a triple threat child performer who knows she was born to play Pippi Longstocking, and will stop at nothing to win the part in her school musical. This outrageous musical hit garnered rave reviews during its long Off-Broadway run, which opened with Britney Spears in the leading role. Big Noise's production is directed by Kyle Dougan, with choreography by Daniel Spagnuolo and music direction by Alex Newkirk. Ruthless features Sarah Blevins (Streamwood), Tommy Bullington (Chicago), Mary Campbell (Northbrook), Sadie Rose Glaspey (Chicago), Sage Harper (Winnetka), Marian Kaderbek (Chicago), Abby Merrill (Iowa City, IA) and Elizabeth Morgan (Chicago).

In January, Catherine Davis returns to direct the lighthearted comedy Alone Together, written by Lawrence Roman. Alone Together chronicles the story of a mother and father who are finally enjoying life as "empty nesters", only to have their 3 sons return one by one, after experiencing tough times in the real worlD. Davis returns for her 4th season, having previously directed Beau Jest, Butterflies are Free, and Born Yesterday.

Rounding out the season is the epic musical Ragtime. Stacey Flaster, recently acclaimed for her directing work for Light Opera Work's production of Cabaret and Big Noise's Jesus Christ Superstar, is at the helm once again for Ragtime. Written by the award-winning composer/lyricist team of Stephen Flaherty and Lynn Ahrens, the musical intertwines the stories of three extraordinary families, as they confront history's timeless contradictions of wealth and poverty, freedom and prejudice, hope and despair, and what it means to live in America.

RUTHLESS runs on weekends from September 27th though October 13th. Performances are Fridays and Saturdays at 8:00 pm, with Saturday and Sunday matinees at 3:00 pm (there is no matinee on Saturday, September 18th). Season subscription passes are available for $75 adults/$60 for seniors and students. Singe tickets for all shows are $28 for adults, $23 for seniors and students.
