Big Noise Theatre Company, a division of Winnetka Theatre, announces their first show of the 2017 season, The Mousetrap. The famous Agatha Christie whodunit murder mystery began in 1952 in London (originally a short radio play that aired in 1947 titled THREE BLIND MICE). It is still running consecutively for over 65 years, the world's longest running play!
The Mousetrap will perform at Prairie Lakes Theater, 515 E Thacker, in Des Plaines from January 13-29, 2017. The performances will take place on the following dates and times: Fridays and Saturdays at 7:30 p.m. / Sundays at 2 p.m. / Wednesday, January 25th at 2 p.m. / Saturday, January 28th at 2 p.m.
Tickets are $30 for adults, $25 for seniors/students and can be purchased on our website at www.bignoisetheatre.org. If you wish to reserve seats by phone, please call 847.604.0275. Group rates are also available.
In The Mousetrap, a group of strangers is stranded at a guest house during a blizzard. A policeman arrives by skis on the trail of a suspected killer. He probes the backgrounds of all present, rattling skeletons from the past, and then - murder! Will the killer be revealed before another victim is caught in the mousetrap?
Although The Mousetrap has played to packed houses over all those years, surprisingly, fewer people have seen it in London than have seen one episode of "Downton Abbey"!
The cast includes Hannah Williams (Chicago) as "Mollie Ralston" (previously seen in Big Noise's LOVE LOSS AND WHAT I WORE), Earnest Roberts (Chicago) as "Giles Ralston", John Ham as "Sgt. Trotter", Brandon Kastell (Naperville) as "Christopher Wren", Nicola Brown Howard (Glenview) as "Mrs. Boyle" (previously seen in Big Noise's LOVE LOSS and Mrs. Graves in ENCHANTED APRIL), Rachel Christianson (Chicago) as "Miss Casewell", Bob Sanders (Lake Bluff) as "Major Metcalf" and Geoff Isaac (Northbrook) as "Mr. Paravicini" (Geoff starred in Big Noise's ALONE TOGETHER in 2014).
The show is directed by Catherine Davis (Northbrook) and produced by Peter Rasey (Chicago). Catherine Davis says about directing this production "It is a great joy and privilege to direct The Mousetrap which has scared, surprised, amused and entertained audiences everywhere. My husband and I were fortunate to attend performance number 26,515 of The Mousetrap last summer. "
Big Noise Theatre Company's productions continue to be known for bringing Downtown quality to the suburbs at reasonable rates. Big Noise strives to produce high-quality shows that stretch the creative talents of their actors and staff as well as surpass the expectations of their audience.
