Big Deal Productions, the national award-winning theatre program of the Buffalo Grove Park District, is pleased to present Catch Me If You Can: The Musical, directed by Ken Preuss, choreographed by Karen Shuman, and music directed by Aaron Kaplan, running July 15-24, 2016.
Based on the hit film, Catch Me If You Can: The Musical is a high-flying, new musical comedy, with an incredible score, abundance of high-energy dance numbers, and an amazing true story. Nominated for 4 Tony awards, including Best Musical, this high-energy show was created by a Tony Award-winning dream team, with a book by Terrence McNally and a swinging score by Marc Shaiman and Scott Wittman.
Director, Ken Preuss, said, "We're extremely fortunate this bold and fresh show choice brought an exceptionally talented pool of people to auditions. Local audiences are going to see some incredible up-and-coming talent, including 19-year old Chuck Quinn IV in the starring role of Frank Abagnale, Jr. and 20-year old McKenna Batterson, who plays his love interest, Brenda Strong."
The production features a cast of 40 highly skilled performers and a live, on-stage 15-piece orchestra comprised of many of the area's most talented musicians.
Music Director, Aaron Kaplan, said, "I am excited for the audience to see the spectacle of the show - the orchestra onstage, the cast in full costume, and a spectacular set."
Performances will be held at the Buffalo Grove Park District Community Arts Center on July 15, 16, 22 and 23 at 7:30 pm, and July 17 and 22 at 2 pm. Tickets are $17 in advance or $20 at the door for adults, and $12 in advance or $15 at the door for children 12 and younger. Tickets are on sale at bigdealproductions.org.
