Beloved Radio Host and Humorist Garrison Keillor Headed to Raue Center This Fall

Raue Center will welcome beloved radio host and acclaimed humorist Garrison Keillor to the stage at 8 p.m. on September 24, 2017. Offering insight and stories from his journey as one of America's greatest storytellers, Keillor captivates his audience with his unique blend of comedy, charisma and wisdom.

One of the most prolific American storytellers of all time, Keillor is a writer and humorist best known as the former host of the popular live radio variety show, "A Prairie Home Companion." From July 6, 1974 - July 1, 2016, Keillor entertained an average 4 million listeners on more than 600 public radio stations each week with celebrity guests and stories about the fictional town of Lake Wobegon.

After over 40 years with "A Prairie Home Companion," Keillor is now the host of the daily radio and online program, "The Writer's Almanac." A best-selling author, he has published more than two-dozen books including "Lake Wobegon Days," "The Book of Guys" and "The Keillor Reader."

Keillor has lent his distinctive accent to voice-over appearances and in 2006, Keillor portrayed himself alongside Meryl Streep, Lily Tomlin and Kevin Kline in the critically acclaimed film adaptation of "A Prairie Home Companion" directed by Robert Altman.

Keillor has earned a number of accolades throughout his extensive career, including a Grammy Award, two CableACE Awards and a George Foster Peabody Award. He has also been honored with a National Humanities Medal and election to the American Academy of Arts and Letters.
