Bailiwick Chicago will present the Chicago premiere of the 2012 Off-Broadway revival version of CARRIE: The Musical, with book by original screenwriter Lawrence D. Cohen, lyrics by Academy Award-winner Dean Pitchford, music by Academy Award-winner Michael Gore, based on the novel by Stephen King, directed by Collective Member Christopher Pazdernik with music direction by Collective Member Aaron Benham. This unique resurrection of 1988's CARRIE: The Musical will play May 29 - July 12, 2014 at the Victory Gardens Richard Christiansen Theater, 2433 N. Lincoln Ave. in Chicago. Tickets are available at www.victorygardens.org, by calling (773) 871-3000 or in-person at the Victory Gardens Box Office. The press performance is Sunday, June 1 at 7 pm.

CARRIE: The Musical will star Callie Johnson as Carrie (Pal Joey, Porchlight Music Theatre-Jeff Award; Next to Normal, Drury Lane Oak Brook) and Katherine L. Condit as Margaret White (Chess, Original Broadway Company; Joseph and A Chorus Line, National Tours). The cast also includes Collective Members Samantha Dubina, Kate Garassino and Ryan Lanning with Kasey Alfonso, Molly Coleman, Damon Gillespie, Kelly Krauter, Henry McGinniss, Sawyer Smith, Rochelle Therrien and George Toles.

Carrie White is a misfit. At school, she's an outcast who's bullied by the popular crowd, and virtually invisible to everyone else. At home, she's at the mercy of her loving but cruelly over-protective mother. But Carrie's just discovered she's got a special power, and if pushed too far, she's not afraid to use it...

Based on Stephen King's bestselling novel of the same name, the show's original authors have newly reworked and fully re-imagined the vision of this gripping tale. Set today in the small town of Chamberlain, Maine, CARRIE: The Musical features a book by Lawrence D. Cohen (screenwriter of the classic film), music by Academy Award-winner Michael Gore (Fame, Terms of Endearment) and lyrics by Academy Award-winner Dean Pitchford (Fame, Footloose).

The production team for CARRIE: The Musical includes Stephen H. Carmody (scenic designer), Raquel Adorno (costume designer), Charlie Cooper (lighting designer), Patrick Bley (sound designer), Heather Stuck (stage manager) and Michael Driscoll (assistant director).
