Kate Duffy, a Chicago-based actor/comedienne, has announced her solo debut with the premiere of BUCKLE: A One-Woman Emotional Car Wreck, opening at the Annoyance Theatre on Sunday, November 21.

She's one-fourth of "the best all-female improv group in Chicago" (Chicago Reader), she's performed all over the Midwest, and now consummate performer Kate Duffy is stepping out with a hilarious solo show all her own! BUCKLE: A One-Woman Emotional Car Wreck is a pile-up of out of control characters speeding along the highway of bad judgment. Duffy and savvy director Scott Goldstein delve in to their interwoven lives, each one broken in their own way and struggling to rectify loss of relationships, youth, loved ones, or aspirations for the future. In this world, empty nest syndrome is paralyzing, precocious pre-teens crush the hopes for post-divorce dating, cops lose their power, and the asparagus never gets steamed. Just buckle up, and steer into the swerve.

"While the show tackles darker topics, the characters are still accessible and playful," said Duffy, "and as their lives careen off the rails, they seem to be enjoying the ride!"

BUCKLE: A One-Woman Emotional Car Wreck is written and performed by Kate Duffy and directed by Scott Goldstein.

Sundays @ 9:30pm, November 21-December 26. (No Show December 12)

The Annoyance Theatre & Bar, 4830 N Broadway (just north of Lawrence Ave), Chicago, IL 60640.
