Chicago blues legend Buddy Guy and New Orleans' own Dr. John will headline Aurora's 17th Annual Blues on the Fox festival on June 14 and 15, which doubles as the long awaited grand opening celebration for the new RiverEdge Park in downtown Aurora.
Add JJ Grey & Mofro, The Stone Foxes, Tommy Castro & The Painkillers and Robert Randolph & The Family Band and you get six incredible blues bands over one incredible weekend kicking off an exciting and diverse line-up of concerts and special events all summer at Chicagoland's newest outdoor music venue.
Blues on the Fox starts rockin' Friday night, June 14, with a live set by JJ Grey & Mofro, ready to deliver their blend of Southern Rock and soul to Aurora's doorstep, followed by nationally acclaimed New Orleans blues legend and Rock-and-Roll Hall of Fame member Dr. John. Gates open at 6 p.m. The concert begins at 7 p.m.
Saturday, June 15, kicks off with the foot-stompin' Bay area blues rockers The Stone Foxes, followed by the turbo charged Tommy Castro & The Painkillers, and pedal steel guitar virtuoso and brand new Blue Note Record recording artist Robert Randolph & The Family Band. Closing the fest isBuddy Guy, a pioneer of the Chicago blues sound and one of Rolling Stones' "100 Greatest Guitarists of All Time." Gates open at 2 p.m. Concerts start at 3 p.m.
Aurora's new RiverEdge Park, located at 360 North Broadway, is just steps away from downtown Aurora, directly across from the Metra station, on the east bank of the beautiful Fox River.
