The hit musical Altar Boyz, will continue performances in its home at Drury Lane Water Tower Place, 175 E. Chestnut Street, in Chicago, through March 2, 2008.  The new block of tickets, priced from $45 to $55, will go on-sale Friday, December 7 at 10 a.m. via the Drury Lane Water Tower Place Box Office, by calling 312-642-2000 or online at Ticketmaster.com.

Armed with catchy melodies, divine moves and gobs of hair product, Altar Boyz is a hilarious, holy-inspiring musical comedy about five small-town boys – Matthew, Mark, Luke, Juan and Abraham – trying to save the world one screaming fan at a time.  Presented as a concert in real-time, Altar Boyz sweetly satirizes the phenomenon of boy bands, the popularity of Christian-themed music, and excessive product placement in contemporary American culture.  The group's amusingly pious pop act features slick dance moves, heavenly harmonies, and laugh-out-loud lyrics such as "Girl You Make Me Wanna Wait" and "Jesus Called Me on My Cell Phone."

In celebration of the holiday season, the cast of Altar Boyz – Devin DeSantis (Matthew), Brian Crum (Mark), Tyler McGee (Luke), Adam Zelasko (Juan), and Nick Verina (Abraham) – will lead the audience in classic carols following the performance on Sunday, December 23 at 5 p.m.

Altar Boyz began performances on September 28 and has been met with overwhelming audience response and widespread critical acclaim.  The Jeff-Recommended production is directed by Stafford Arima, choreographed by Christopher Gattelli (both of the original New York creative team), and produced by Joe McGinnis, a recent Tony Award winner for Spring Awakening (Best Musical 2007), and Bart Kahn, who also serves as Resident Director.  Musical Director Alan Bukowiecki conducts a band on-stage comprised of Jeremy Ramey on keyboard, Ethan Deppe on drums, and Malcolm Ruhl on guitar.  Radio legend Roy Leonard can be heard as "the Voice of G.O.D."

The new performance schedule for Altar Boyz, beginning January 3, will be as follows:  Wednesdays at 2 p.m. & 7:30 p.m.; Thursdays at 7:30 p.m.; Fridays at 8 p.m.; Saturdays at 2 p.m. & 8 p.m.; and Sundays at 2 p.m. & 7 p.m.

The performance schedule for Altar Boyz now through December 31 is as follows:  Wednesdays at 2 p.m. & 7:30 p.m.; Thursdays at 7:30 p.m.; Fridays at 8 p.m.; Saturdays at 2 p.m. & 8 p.m.; and Sundays at 2 p.m. & 5 p.m.  There will be additional performances on Monday, December 31 at 5 p.m. & 8 p.m.  There will be no performances on Christmas Eve (Monday, December 24), Christmas Day (Tuesday, December 25), New Years Day (Tuesday, January 1), or Wednesday, January 2.

Tickets, priced from $45 to $55, are currently on sale via the Drury Lane Water Tower Place Box Office, by calling 312-642-2000 or online at Ticketmaster.com, with the new block of tickets going on sale Friday, December 7 at 10 a.m.  A select number of VIP tickets are available for $75.  Discounts are available for groups of 15 or more by calling 312-423-6612.  A limited number of student rush tickets, priced at $25, will be available the day of each performance at the Drury Lane Box Office only.
