When her Deaf mother gets cancer, a middle-aged woman moves back into her childhood room with two questions: "Where is God?" and "Who took my KISS poster?!" Aiming for Sainthood (commissioned by 16th Street) is part two of Malinowski's trilogy beginning with What Does the Sun Sound Like?, the totally true tales of a hearing daughter growing up in a Deaf family and culture.  ee both shows on Saturday July 12 & 19. Sign language interpretation: July 19.

Arlene Malinowski is an actor/playwright whose solo shows have been produced in venues nationwide and has been honored with an LA Theatre Ovations nomination, an LA Weekly Award and a Garland Award. Arlene is also a writer/performer with the nationally touring, multicultural show A Slice of Rice, Frijoles & Greens, a Resident Playwright at Chicago Dramatists, and a founding member of the literary ensemble In So Many Words. Arlene's stories are told through sign language and voice inviting the audience to share a world beyond their experience.

16th STREET THEATER is Berwyn's professional equity theater under the artistic direction of Ann Filmer. 2008 marks its first season. 

The BERWYN CULTURAL CENTER, a North Berwyn Park District managed facility, is dedicated to providing the highest quality and range of cultural arts programs, classes, workshops, events, and exhibitions providing opportunities for Berwyn residents and area artists.  The center will provide year-round programs engaging participants of all ages in visual, performing, literary, martial and media arts and 16th Street Theater's professional productions. The BCC also will serve as an incubator for emerging artists, artisans, writers, performers and musicians to develop and present new works.  The center is dedicated to enhancing the quality of life and sustainability of our local communities by advancing appreciation for the beauty of cultural diversity.
