Articulit Readers Theatre presents an afternoon of tea and poetry on Friday, February 5, at 1 pm, at High Tea with Gerri, 144 Old McHenry Road in Long Grove.

Focusing on the rich imagery of poets with ties to Illinois, this dramatized reading offers works ranging from the poignant to the whimsical. Among the poets represented are Carl Sandburg, Archibald MacLeish, Gwendolyn Brooks, Vachel Lindsay, Edgar Lee Masters, Lisel Mueller, and Steve Goodman. Performers for this program are June Fisher of Highland Park, Mollie Grabemann of Deerfield, Donna Lubow of Riverwoods, Peggy Lewis of Lincolnshire, and Kate O'Connor of Evanston.

Articulit Readers Theatre has been performing on the North Shore for 10 years for libraries, women's clubs, senior centers, and other organizations. Their goal is to combine art and literature to enhance the written word through dramatic interpretation and to provide audiences with a stimulating theatrical experience.

Four-course high tea and performance: $45.00. Reservations are required: 847-948-1724. For more information: www.articulitreaderstheatre.com.
