The Scooty & JoJo Show and Metro will present a special Halloween performance of the comic rock spectacle, Alien Queen: The Concert, on Friday, October 28, at Metro with returning crowd favorite, Battlestar Fantastica. Tickets go on sale at noon, Saturday, August 20, at the Metro box office and metrochicago.com.
Alien Queen: The Concert combines the legendary music of Queen with an outrageous parody of the "Alien" films to create a top-notch Queen tribute band made up of H.R. Giger-inspired aliens, cross-gendered humans, and some of Chicago's best singers and rock musicians. The event will be a full evening of sci-fi rock and ridiculousness, with special guests Battlestar Fantastica. The show is an 18 & over event.
The Scooty & JoJo Show premiered Alien Queen: The Concert at the Metro in May 2011, and packed out the venue two more times in June and July of 2011. The original show, created and staged by
Scott Bradley, is a farcical fusion of the Alien film franchise with the
iconic sound of British rock band Queen.
Returning to the Metro stage from 9pm to 10pm is Battlestar Fantastica, a sci-fi variety hour featuring burlesque & performance artists from across the galaxy. "Caution: may cause your Light Saber to extend due to inter-galatic and homo-robotic content." Curated & hosted by Jyldo (Poonie's Cabaret, FLOF).
