A Steady Rain, Chicago Dramatists' smash hit production now playing at the Royal George Theatre, 1641 N. Halsted, will close on Sunday, June 8, announced producers Frank Gero, Ray Gaspard and Jono Gero. A Steady Rain, the most successful show in Chicago Dramatists' 28 year history, has enjoyed extraordinary ticket sales and huge critical acclaim. The riveting play just celebrated its 100th performance. After its June 8 close, A Steady Rain will eventually open in New York.
Critics have been touting playwright Keith Huff as the next David Mamet. Huff's new show Pursued By Happiness will open as part of Steppenwolf Theatre Company's 4th annual First Look Repertory of New Work this summer. A Steady Rain stars Randy Steinmeyer and Peter DeFarina, who were recently cast in the film Public Enemies, starring Johnny Depp and Christian Bale (but will continue with the play).
A Steady Rain explores love and rage on the streets of Chicago, as a routine domestic disturbance call sends two Chicago cops, Denny (Randy Steinmeyer) and Joey (Peter DeFaria), on a harrowing journey that will test their loyalties and change their lives forever.
