The holiday favorite production A Christmas Carol comes to Metropolis Performing Arts Centre November 28 - December 24, 2015.

Bob Cratchit recounts the tale of his miserly boss Ebenezer Scrooge, who greets every day with a firm "Bah-humbug!" and is consumed by his pursuit of money. A Christmas Eve visit from his old business partner Jacob Marley kicks off an evening of time travelling as Scrooge learns the errors of his past, the reality of the present, and the tragedy the future could hold. A traditional staging of the holiday favorite.

Director Micky York is working with an extraordinarily talented cast, many of whom call the suburbs home. Local cast members include Patrick McDermott and Ella Palffy of Arlington Heights; Zipporah Anderson and Emma Nelson of Barrington; Lilly Fujioka of Buffalo Grove; Jessica Morales of Elk Grove Village; Jamie McCalister of Hoffman Estates; Kaia Mavradas of Mount Prospect; Angie Cornwell and Sophie Kaegi of Palatine; Tyler Bednar of Prospect Heights; and Thailer Lietz, Emma Robie, Margie Vollkommer, Mia Vollkommer and Myrin Vollkommer of Schaumburg.

A Christmas Carol opens November 28 and runs through December 24, 2015. Specific dates and times are listed below. Tickets are $30 for adults and $15 for children. Tickets can be purchased online at MetropolisArts.com or by calling the Box Office at 847.577.2121.

A Christmas Carol was written by Metropolis Resident Playwright Scott Woldman, with musical arrangements by Micky York. A Christmas Carol is directed and music directed by Micky York, assistant director Dylan S. Roberts, choreographer Kristine Burdi. Designers are John Holman (Scenic Designer), Michael Wagner (Resident Lighting Designer), Lisa Hale (Costume Designer), Theresa Neumayer (Properties Designer), Sammi Grant (Dialect Coach). Metropolis production staff includes Joe Keefe (Executive/Artistic Director), William Franz (Production Manager/Resident Sound Designer), and Mike Peters (Pat Iven).

A Christmas Carol is part of the Holiday Series at Metropolis - bringing heartwarming, comedic and spirited seasonal performances to the northwest suburbs. More Holiday shows include The Second City's Holidazed, A Rocky Mountain Christmas, The One and Only Tommy Dorsey Orchestra, The Lakeside Singers, and A Carpenter Christmas.
