Infamous Commonwealth Theater presents 7th annual "INFAMOUS IDOL" KARAOKE CONTEST. Grand Prize: Two Night Summer Getaway in Saugatuck, Michigan. Tuesday, May 5, 8:00pm - 11:00pm at The Spot, 4437 N. Broadway, Chicago.

$15.00 door charge includes entry and open bar from 8:30-10:00pm.
For more information, call 312.458.9780 or visit www.infamouscommonwealth.org.

Doors open promptly at 8:00pm. Contestants enter the karaoke contest upon arrival (no pre-registration) and perform in sign up order. Due to time constrictions, Infamous Commonwealth Theatre (ICT) cannot guarantee that every contestant will be able to perform, so contestants are strongly encouraged to arrive early. Contestants will be heard for as long as time allows. Single performers only; no group entries allowed.

After each contestant's song, actors playing Randy Jackson, Kara Dioguardi, Paula Abdul and Simon Cowell from the TV show "American Idol" evaluate the performance. After all contestants have performed, the judges pick the top five finalists. The finalists perform a second song, and then the audience votes for their favorite performer by giving money to the contestant they'd most like to win (all "money votes" benefit ICT). Because the winner is determined by audience votes, contestants are encouraged to bring a large group of friends and supporters with them to increase their chances of taking the top prize.

Whichever finalist collects the most money from the crowd at the end of the evening will be crowned the 2009 INFAMOUS IDOL and win a two-night stay at Sweet Retreat, a fully furnished vacation home in Saugatuck, Michigan that sleeps up to 4 people. (Winner must use the home the weekend of June 19-21, 2009. Transportation not included in prize package.)

There is no registration fee for this contest. A $15.00 door charge applies for all attendees, regardless of whether or not they choose to compete. Open bar featuring cocktails, house wine, draft beer and soda from 8:30-10:00pm. There will also be a raffle with prizes given away throughout the evening.

All proceeds from Infamous Idol support Infamous Commonwealth Theatre. All ICT staff, ensemble and board members are not eligible for the competition.
Founded in 2001, ICT's unique mission is to illuminate diverse perspectives around one centralized topic per season. ICT has received seven After Dark Awards and four Joseph Jefferson Citations since its inception. For more information on ICT, please visit www.infamouscommonwealth.org.
