All I want for Christmas is.... another chance to see IT'S A WONDERFUL PRO-LIFE! Studio BE and 4 Days Late Productions are excited to be remounting Chicago's favorite 'Rated R' holiday comedy in 2013. This year the holiday show will run Fridays AND Saturdays, with a press preview November 30, and regular run Dec 5-Dec 28. All performances are at 8pm (doors at 7:30) and held at Studio BE (3110 N Sheffield) at 8 PM. Tickets start at $20 (preview $15) and can now be purchased at www.studio-be.org.
IT'S A WONDERFUL PRO-LIFE originally debuted as a co-production between 4DaysLate and Studio BE in November of 2012 and was extended to include 2 extra performances. After receiving rave audience reviews and critical acclaim in 2012, this show is back in 2013! 4DaysLate and Studio BE originally became partners with their co-production of Jersey Shore the Musical which ran sold out at Studio BE for nearly nine months and eventually transferred to the Greenhouse Theatre Center.
After a sold out, 9 month engagement of Jersey Shore: The Musical, NPR has approached 4 Days Late to write an original holiday radio show. The company comes together with the intent of recording a show satirizing holiday commercialism, only to have it hijacked by one of the members for his own personal use. IT'S A WONDERFUL PRO-LIFE is a behind the scenes (think Noises Off) adventure of how the group ultimately rallies, in true Christmas spirit, to create perhaps the best holiday show of all time.
"IT'S A WONDERFUL PRO-LIFE explores much deeper themes connected to what the holidays are traditionally supposed to concern: the values of basic goodness and sacrifice, the gift of friendship, the pitfalls of greed and commercialism, the sense of community and belonging that helps us feel truly connected in a society," says Shapiro, Director and Studio BE's Executive/Artistic Director. "IT'S A WONDERFUL PRO-LIFE, in addition to being incredibly funny, will also leave audiences pondering the same themes... though we will take them on a very different journey to get there!"
The production features 4 Days Late Productions company members, Anna Schlegel, Erin Johnson, Steve Truncale, Alex Myerchin, Alex Pass, Dan Gold, Tony Jaksha, Emily Friedrick and Jason Lord. Directed by AaRon Shapiro.
