Downtown Aurora is getting ready to deck the halls with laughter with The Second City Dysfunctional Holiday Revue - a comedy act that delivers a healthy dose of seasonal satire with holiday film classics, family gatherings, improvised Christmas carols, even Joseph and Mary - December 13-23 at The Copley Theatre, 8 E. Galena Blvd.

Nothing is too sacred for this perfect alternative to the same old holiday shows. Performances are Thursdays at 7:30 p.m.; Fridays and Saturdays at 8 p.m. and Sundays at 5 p.m. All tickets are $35. For tickets and information, go to ParamountAurora.com, call the Paramount Theatre box office, (630) 896-6666, or visit the Paramount box office (located directly across the street from the Copley at 23 E. Galena Blvd.) Monday through Saturday, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., and 2 hours prior to evening performances.

Chicago's legendary comedy theatre The Second City is riding over the (Fox) River and through the woods to downtown Aurora to present a seasonal blend of hilarious scenes, songs and trademark improvisation with a sprig of holiday mischief for a night of spirited fun in the Copley Theatre. Funny, bright and completely original, The Second City Dysfunctional Holiday Revue is the perfect alternative to the same old holiday shows. From uneven gift exchanges with your clueless boyfriend to couples therapy with Joseph and Mary, Second City has your ticket to all that's ridiculous about this magical season. RATED R for adult language and themes.

Not only will an evening with The Second City provide audiences with the chance to see comedy stars in the making, but they will also have the opportunity to see hilarious satire and cutting-edge improvisation - all with a special holiday slant. It's a fast-paced, interactive comedy revue filled with style and wit - where even Rudolph is fair game.

Founded in Chicago in 1959, The Second City has become the premier training ground for the comedy world's best and brightest. Their alumni list reads like a who's who of American comedy, including: Mike Nichols, Elaine May, Alan Arkin, Joan Rivers, Robert Klein, Peter Boyle, Harold Ramis, John Belushi, Dan Aykroyd, Bill Murray, Gilda Radner, George Wendt, Martin Short, John Candy, Bonnie Hunt, Tim Meadows, Chris Farley, Mike Myers, Tina Fey, Steve Carell, Stephen Colbert, Julia Louis-Dreyfus, Horatio Sanz, Ryan Stiles and countless others.
