THE FLIRT BAR is a gritty, Southern, country-rock musical comedy about women who turn a former Strip Club into The Flirt Bar, a place where women can go to be flirted with. It’s about women falling in love, some with other women, some not. The Flirt Bar started as a play with music but evolved into a full-blown musical using songs by the fabulous, incredible Michelle Malone and Grammy-award winning Amy Ray (from the Indigo Girls).
The Flirt Bar is supposed to be audacious, fun, and sexy – all things we might not be feeling these days. But that's where The Flirt Bar starts - in heartbreak. The Flirt Bar proposes that the best way to recover from loss and fear is through love, radical change and being open to others.
Writer Susan Lambert Hatem is working with singer-songwriters Amy Ray and Michelle Malone along with producer Anne Lambert of Charlotte's Off-Broadway to develop this new musical comedy. COB presents along with musical director Zach Tarlton of QC Concerts this very special concert reading of a brand new musical. Two nights only.
