Central Piedmont Community College (CPCC) Theatre announces individual tickets are now on sale for its upcoming season. This year, the troupe will bring an incredible lineup of quality shows, at prices the entire family can enjoy. In addition, parking is free for all productions.
Join us during this extraordinary production season by attending one - or more - of the following 2017/2018 performances:
"The Bridges of Madison County," September 22 - October 1, Dale F. Halton Theater
Jason Robert Brown and
Marsha Norman's "The Bridges of Madison County" captures the lyrical expanse of America's heartland along with the yearning entangled in the eternal question "What if...?" Just like the
Meryl Streep film of the same name, this sweeping romance about the roads we travel, the doors we open and the bridges we dare to cross will leave audiences breathless. With a soaring score and a heartbreaking story, "The Bridges of Madison County" is a touching and powerful start to CPCC Theatre's 2017-2018 season.
"The Crucible," October 27 - November 5, Pease Auditorium
When a group of young girls is found dancing in the woods, and immediately fall ill, no earthly cause can be determined. However, the citizens of Salem suspect that some more sinister force may be at hand. As long-held grudges turn to violent disputes, humiliating secrets are exposed and disseminated, and the line between truth and pretense becomes increasingly blurry, the citizens' dogged determination to root out evil becomes more dangerous than the evil itself. Winner of the 1953 Tony Award for Best Play,
Arthur Miller's "The Crucible," remains as relevant as ever, and carries with it a stern warning: in every community torn by suspicion, the most dangerous threat may be the community itself.
"Evita," February 16 - 25, Dale F. Halton Theater
Andrew Lloyd Webber's Tony awarding-winning musical "Evita" comes to the Halton Theater stage for the first time. With a strong cast of characters torn from the fiery pages of Latin American history, "Evita" represents one of Webber's most-beloved scores, combining Latin, jazz, pop and more traditional influences. With such well-known songs as "Don't Cry for Me Argentina," "Buenos Aires" and "Another Suitcase, In Another Hall," "Evita" has captured audience's hearts around the world.
"On Golden Pond," April 6 - 15, Pease Auditorium
"On Golden Pond" is
Ernest Thompson's love story about Ethel and Norman Thayer, who are returning to their summer home on Golden Pond for the forty-eighth year. This touching, funny and warmly perceptive study of a spirited and lovable elderly couple facing their twilight years received some of the most powerful critical and popular acclaim of any new playwright's debut in Broadway history.
Individual and season tickets are now on sale to all performances. Tickets are available for $18 for all Pease Auditorium non-musical productions and $20 for all musical performances. Halton Theater shows are $18 and $20, with tickets for children under the age of 15 available for $10. Receive the best value by purchasing season tickets, which are $56 for adults and $52 for seniors (restrictions apply) through October 1. College and high school students who present a valid student I.D. may purchase a $5 ticket.
