Three Bone Theatre presents the CHARLOTTE PREMIERE of Madeleine George's "The (curious case of the) Watson Intelligence"
This brilliantly witty, time-jumping Pulitzer Prize finalist is a loving tribute (and cautionary tale) dedicated to the people-and machines-upon which we all depend. It is a story of human connection told through four different "Watsons": Trusty sidekick to Sherlock Holmes; loyal engineer who built Bell's first telephone; a super-computer that rivals the IBM Jeopardy! champion; amiable tech-dweeb who, in the present day, is just looking for love. Brought to life under the direction of Three Bone Theatre's Artistic Director, Robin Tynes, and an all-star trio of Charlotte actors, "The (curious case of the) Watson Intelligence" reminds the audience that as our dependency on machines and technology grows, our dependency on each other becomes even more crucial.
"Connection isn't elegant, or precise, or rational. But it's our fate to be bound up with one another; isn't it. We are all born insufficient, and must look to others to supplement our strength. That is no weakness, it is the first condition of human life."
