This fall, Chris Gethard from the Upright Citizen Brigade Theatre in New York City ran a Kickstarter.Com campaign to take his hilarious and irreverent The Chris Gethard Show on the road. Audiences helped raise the funds and in January Gethard and his crew will pack up, hop in a van, and travel around the country. One of the top-tier donation levels was a stop on the tour and DSI Comedy Theater is pleased to have garnered one of those slots.

Wednesday, January 19 at 8 p.m., Gethard and crew will arrive at DSI Comedy Theater for a completely inventive and hilarious special show. Tickets cost $10. DSI Comedy Theater is located at 200 N. Greensboro St, in the Carr Mill Mall between Elmo's and Southern Rail. More information and tickets are available at www.DSIcomedy.com.

The Chris Gethard Show takes place once a month at the UCB Theater in New York, NY. In just over a year of existence, they've staged 13 crazy shows. One took place in Chris's apartment. Another served as a match making service that brought together three couples who are still together. Another featured an event called "The Wheel of Degradation." The cast is a group of talented, creative, motivated weirdos who really want to give the audience things they don't expect, and in a way they don't expect.

Besides Gethard, who is the ringmaster of the show, the cast includes Shannon O'Neill (the most badass lady in NYC), Don Fanelli (the handsomest man in Hackensack, NJ), and Will Hines (Chris's unfunny 40 year old sidekick). Their stage manager Bethany Hall and Jon Demuth, their video director, will also make the trek, along with their house band - The Kung Fu Monkeys! This show is touring to 13 locations across the country.

Chris Gethard is a teacher at the UCB Theater and a member of The Stepfathers, who perform every Friday night at the UCB theater. He has appeared in dozens of shows at UCBNY, and has also traveled around the globe as a member of the UCB Theater Touring Company. Chris has appeared on Late Night With Conan O'Brien and the ABC sitcoms Hope & Faith and the Knights of Prosperity. In 2007, Chris served as a guest writer for Saturday Night Live. He has also contributed writing to the Onion News Network, the Fuse Network, and more. Chris took over for Jon Heder on the recent Comedy Central series, Big Lake, with Horatio Sanz. He acted on and assisted the writing staff of the Comedy Central show Crossballs. In the world outside of comedy, Chris is a writer for Weird NJ magazine. In November of 2005, Weird NY, a hardcover book he wrote, was published by Barnes and Noble. Chris is obsessed with seminal early 80s pop group The Smiths.
